In a change of dialogue after largely praising Bernie Sanders throughout the campaign, Donald Trump posted some critical remarks about the former Democratic candidate Sunday. Trump, who has largely been critical of the 'rigged' system against Sanders, tweeted:
There is no longer a Bernie Sanders "political revolution." He is turning out to be a weak and somewhat pathetic figure, wants it all to end!
He also tweeted:
"Sorry folks, but Bernie Sanders is exhausted, just can't go on any longer. He is trying to dismiss the new e-mails and DNC disrespect. SAD!"
Trump's tweets were likely in response to Sanders's response to the leak of emails which indicated that the DNC might have collaborated to work against Sanders during the primaries, which led to the resignation of DNC chairwomen Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Sanders, on CNN Saturday, called for her resignation and said he was "disappointed" by the emails and "not shocked".
