Before the debate on Sunday Donald Trump held a press conference with four women who all have nasty allegations against the Clintons. The women were Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey and Kathy Shelton. The allegations revolve around sexual assault, rape and the intimidation of the women.
Paula Jones has accused Bill Clinton of sexual harassment back on May 8 of 1991. He was the Governor of Arkansas at this point in time, and she was a state employee. She claims that he propositioned her and exposed himself to her at the Excelsior Hotel in Little Rock, Akansas. The lawsuit was eventually settled for $850,000.00 on November 13, 1998. Bill Clinton’s attorney said that her claim was baseless, but settled the claim on the condition that the appeal would be dropped in order for his client to be able to move forwards with his life.
The Juanitia Broaddrick allegations date back to April of 1978. Bill Clinton was the Arkansas Attorney General then, and she was working at a nursing home. She alleges that Clinton forced himself upon her in her hotel room. The encounter was supposed to be a meeting about her volunteering for his campaign. She also has accused Hillary Clinton of threatening her regarding the alleged incident with Bill. At the Trump press conference held before the campaign she had some blunt words for Bill Clinton.
Actions speak louder than words. Mr. Trump may have said some bad words but Bill Clinton raped me and Hillary Clinton threatened me. I don’t think there’s any comparison. - Juanitia Broaddrick
Kathleen Willey accused Bill Clinton of assaulting her on November 29, 1993. This would be when Bill Clinton was serving his first term as president and she was a White House volunteer aide at this point in time. Her accusations entail Clinton groping and kissing her while in the Oval Office.
In 1975 at the age of 12 Kathy Shelton was allegedly raped by a 41 year old named Thomas Alfred Taylor. Hillary Clinton was the defense lawyer for the accused back when she was 27. He was only charged with “unlawful fondling of a child under 14” instead of a first degree rape charge. He ended up serving only 10 months of the one year sentence for the crime. Kathy Shelton also commented at the press conference before the debate on the rape case.
Hillary put me through something that you would never put a 12 year old through, and she says she’s for women and children. - Kathy Shelton
Trump campaign looking for anything on Clinton’s
There has been a withdrawal of support from many Republicans with the exposure of Trump’s hot mic comments to Billy Bush back in 2005, and he has come under increased scrutiny for his comments towards women. It is clear now that he will go after the Clintons in any way possible to try and take some of the heat off of himself, and paint them as worse than he is. The press conference before the debate shows the lengths he will go to now in an attempt to disparage the Clintons.
