The Vote Is Not Dead...yet. Can You Feel the Bern?

We all know the political game is rigged. This fact has been painfully obvious for longer than most in our generation can remember. Special interest party's and large corporations like private insurance companies and “Big-Pharma” have been buying their way into our political system, one dirty dollar at a time.

There was a time when this country's Universities and community centers overflowed with active young Americans that cared about what was going on not only around them but in their names as well. That time, it may seem, is but a faded star on a once brilliant flag. As a result many generations, including yours and mine, have been left with resentments and apprehension in regards to our countries voting process. Most just don't trust the system, and for good reason. Who would trust a system that has failed to produce a vote worthy leader time and time again. This has been the unfortunate and hard truth for many generations to face when considering voting.

Until now. If ever there were a time when your vote as an American citizen mattered, now would be it. The 2016 election is more than just a battle between political opinions or another attempt at rallying support for yet another inadequate and incompetent leader. This election We the People finally have a chance to take back the greatest nation on Earth. We owe that chance to one brave individual who speaks not as a leader but as a figure poised and ready to start a Political Revolution. This man's name is Bernie Sanders.

Bernie was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 8, 1941, and has long been an advocate for peace and justice in the United States of America. He became Mayor of Burlington in 1981 by a difference of ten votes. In 2006, he was elected to the U.S. Senate as the State of Vermont’s only congressman in the House and was reelected next term with an overwhelming 71% of that States votes.

He has valiantly refused campaign funds from political interest party's that seek to influence Presidential Candidates and has successfully raised the majority of his campaign funding online from small, middle class families throughout the US. However, Sen. Sanders goes even further, stating that we must reform campaign financing and effectively remove big money from politics all together.

President Jimmy Carter recently said, 甜unlimited money in politics]violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now, it痴 just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominationis beyond my expertise, but I will tell you who seems more than prepared to take correct it. Senator Sanders.

Rhetoric spewed forth by his competition

Sen. Sanders takes Climate Change seriously as well, and has introduced a legislative plan to invest in sustainable, clean energy sources powered by our sun, wind and the Earth’s geothermal heat. He also plans to provide benefits to any and all worker's involved as they make the transition into the solar panel, wind turbine, and battery fields of tomorrow. Bernie plans to pay for this by stopping tax-payer funded giveaways to huge oil, gas and coal companies. He says it's time to change how we treat our planet and I cannot agree more.

Bernie Sanders has also introduced a plan to expand health care coverage to every American citizen. This will be paid for by a 6.2% income based health care premium paid by employers, a 2.2% income based premium paid by households, progressive income-tax rates, limiting tax deductions for the 1%

While Mayor of Burlington Bernie implemented a variety of changes in the local police force, effectively bridging the gap between the community members and those who've sworn to protect it. He went head to head with the wealthy business and property owners, ensuring that water fronts, public housing and programs to keep families working and fed were not discarded in favor of elitist agendas and as a result Burlington, VT is one of the countries top 10 places to live and raise a family in the United States.

These are just a few of the many reasons why you and everyone you know should be voting for Bernie Sanders this November.

As a rare member of both Gen X and Y, and a proud yet worried American citizen, I urge you to take a look at the details for yourself. It wont take long for you to realize that everything I've said here is true. This may very well be our last chance at restoring actual justice in this country and beginning the long process of redemption as a Global power. In this final election let it be said that our generation marched forward into the streets with our heads held high, unafraid to cast our votes this time because we no longer had to choose between the lesser of evils. We had to choose Bernie Sanders.
