Dick Cheney's Daughter Wins Wyoming Primary

The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, Liz Cheney won the Republican primary for Wyoming's only House Seat on Tuesday. Cheney beat out 7 other competitors vying for the seat, which was previously held by Rep. Cynthia Lummis.
The elder Cheney held the same position between 1979 and 1989, stepping down to become Secretary of Defense under George H.W. Bush and later returning to serve as Vice President under George W. Bush after a stint in the private sector. Liz Cheney is expected to win the seat because Wyoming traditionally votes Republican.
However, Cheney will face Democratic nominee Ryan Greene in the general election. She ran for one of Wyoming's two senate seats in 2014, but withdrew do to personal issues in her family. Cheney tweeted out after the result:
