It’s become a Hollywood tradition that every presidential election we have some celebrities who announce that if their candidate loses they are heading for the wilds of Canada to nurse their wounds. This year is no exception, as some known and not-so-well known ‘stars’ are saying they’ll leave the country if Trump wins.
No one says they will leave if Clinton wins
A search for celebrities who have said they will leave if Hillary Clinton is elected president did not turn up any names. In the event Mr. Trump wins next Tuesday, these are the folks who have said they’ll be leaving the U.S.
Miley Cyrus: Miley took to Instagram to vow she’d “move out da country” if Trump wins.
YOU DT ARE NOT GOD NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOU ARE!!! (& if he doesn’t think he is “God” he thinks he is the f—king chosen one or some s—t! We’re all just f—king jam between his rich ass toes! Whoopi Goldberg: Whoopi has made her views on Trump well known on her show The View.
Listen, he can be whatever party he wants to be. What he can’t be is he can’t be the guy that says it’s your fault stuff isn’t working. That’s not the president I want. Find a way to make stuff work. Maybe it’s time for me to move, you know. I can afford to go. — Whoopi Goldberg
Samuel L. Jackson: The star of several movies Mr. Jackson has said that Trump is running a campaign of “hate.”

Cher: When George Bush ran for president Cher promised to move, but must have had second thoughts as she never left. However, this time around she left herself some wiggle room as there are currently no flights to her chosen destination of Jupiter.
If he were to be elected, I’m moving to Jupiter. — Cher
Lena Dunham: Ms. Dunham has been active on the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton and recently said that if Trump wins, she’s planning to move to Canada.
I know a lovely place in Vancouver, and I can get my work done from there. I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will. — Lena Dunham
Bryan Cranston: The Breaking Bad star is the most recent celebrity to announce that he’s moving, as he revealed yesterday that he'd make a break for the border if Trump wins.
I would definitely move! It’s not real to me that that would happen. I hope to God it won’t. — Bryan Cranston
CNN reported last spring that Google searches on “how to move from the U.S. to Canada” spiked 455% after a string of Trump wins in primary states. However, celebrities have made similar announcements in the past, most notably when George W. Bush was running for president, but few actually carried through on their threat to leave.
