In a series of tweets Monday, former Vice President and Presidential candidate Al Gore tweeted his supported for his former running mate's wife, Hillary Clinton. Gore tweeted:
I am not able to attend this year’s Democratic convention, but I will be voting for Hillary Clinton. Given her qualifications and experience -- and given the significant challenges facing our nation and the world, including, especially, the global climate crisis, I encourage everyone else to do the same.
Gore reportedly did not attend the convention due to "personal commitments" in Tennessee. He was one of the few major political figures that did not endorse either Clinton or rival Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primaries.
