13 States Ask Courts to Stop Obama Transgender Bathroom Policy

13 states asked a US Federal Judge Friday to stop President Obama's recommendation that transgender people be able to use bathroom's corresponding to their self-identified gender in public schools, or face the risk of losing federal for their schools under Title IX.
The 13 states filing the injunction are Alabama, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Tennessee, Arizona, Maine, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Utah, Georgia, Mississippi, Kentucy, and Texas. They have said that the law would turn schools "into laboratories for a massive social experiment".
The Justice responded by saying that these were recommendations and held no legal clout, thus the states had no purpose in filing an injunction.
